XXX th RIDEF Reggio Emilia / Italy 21-30 July 2014
To every FIMEM Movement.
On its yearly meeting held in Venice -Italy- from 29th to 5th april 2013, the FIMEM CA met MCE members in charge of the 2014 Ridef.
The budget planned by the Ridef organizing team has been accepted and Reggio Emilia Ridef facilities visited by the CA.
Most unfortunately, due to the rocketing cost of living and to economical problems in Italy, the Ridef team is facing quite a lot of troubles in fund raising.
As a result, the final cost of 2014 Ridef appears to be pretty high and the Ridef organizing team they' re afraid they won't be able to secure solidarity as full as expected.
The final cost, all in price and foreseeing a 5% in the rise in the cost of living, reaches the sum of Eu 59 person/ a day. Boarding prices and even pretty expenses will affect too much the total cost.
Therefore, each person attending the Ridef is going to pay, all in price,
- A countries : EU 580,
- B countries : EU 460.
Prices like that are hardly supposed to be met by everyone.
These prices as well as the world financial situation ask us for further considerations.
If we aim to cut the costs off, we'll have to call for international cooperation and work out suitable ways to get it.
To start with, MCE is backing the Ridef for the amount of EU 12,000.
Fund raising activities have been planned , namely through the means of so called “ solidarity -actions”. MCE members have been fully involved in buying “ solidarity-actions”.
If we achieved the goal of raising the sum of EU 15,000 through supporters all over the world, then the prices should at least be brought down to :
-A countries , EU 540;
-B countries , EU 420.
Meanwhile, the MCE is at work to get the contracts done, both for workshop facilities ( Reggio Children – schools) and boarding places in Reggio Emilia, in order to keep the prices level with today.
Therefore, we'd also ask A countries movements to kindly think about any chance to give financial support to our international meeting.
Furthermore, by no means we should forget backfire effects of the economical crisis on many countries up until now rated as A countries: that's why we invite people , even from B countries, but quite well off, to see if they are in any position to cooperate and subscribe for their full costs.
We also warmly ask B countries in South America, should they enjoy a more suitable economical position, to adjust their contribution somehow closer to A countries costs, and be so kind to let us know, please.
Italian Movement is looking for lower prices: we 'd ask as well other Movements to join us in raising funds, organizing solidarity actions or addressing ONG for any help in travelling expenses and participation costs.
If you like, you should subscribe “ solidarity -action” choosing among : a single “ solidarity -action” or group or school form. The “ solidarity -action” is a bonus aimed to give some backing to collegues from C countries( travel-accomodation-during/ after Ridef) . By subscribing the “ solidarity-action” the subscriber buys a bonus of EU 75: EU 50 will be given as solidarity fund, and EU 25 will be taken off from the Ridef application form. ( Application of the subscriber himself or whomsoever appointed by the subscriber).
For example: the Territorial Group of Nice ( France) agrees on buying 2 “solidarity actions ” at EU 75 each. The Group gives EU 150 to the MCE and 2 people, appointed by the Group, will enjoy EU 25 off from their Ridef application form.
