Proposals for a city of the world

 

Rossella Quaranta, teacher of M.C.E. of Brindisi, designed for RIDEF 2014 in Italy the symbol that her has inspired the theme of children and the city.

In a coordination meeting of the Organizing Committee has decided to propose to all groups of FIMEM to use this symbol in their schools and classrooms replacing the traditional houses Western with patterns with typical houses of their own country, like an expression of their culture.

The Class Council: Preparing Young People for Democracy

According to the recent Deutsche Shell’s Jugendwerk report on German youth, young Germans are not generally apolitical. Young people have difficulties with politics, but the much bigger problem lies on the other side: it’s that politics is reluctant to involve young people.[1] It’s important to young people to have a say and to utilize their competence to contribute. Young people’s wish list for school would include improvements like more small workgroups, more projects, more independent research by themselves, more classroom discussion, to have more say in class planning, a trustful relationship to their teachers.[2] The ways of teaching and learning mentioned by the young themselves promote cooperative learning and democratic skills.

Hangzhou Freinet Education Centre: the new school year has begun...

In the new school year 2012-2013, Hangzhou Freinet Education Centre welcome seven new students and three new teachers: Miss Dong, Chinese kindergarten teacher; Christy, English and arts teacher; and Paskal ,French teacher mother tongue.

We also welcome two very special students: Feifei and Meimei, who are the two mascots of the school. They share the lives of students, listen to their secrets and attend their workshops.
